Journey back to 2020-2021
This was us then...
The Covid-19 pandemic is often referred to as an event. People often say 'during the pandemic,' or 'the pandemic' as if it is something that lasted one year, and is in the past. Covid-19 and all the variants that have followed are still among us, and we just need to be vigilant of our surroundings and do our best to stay safe and healthy.
2020-2021 was definitely a challenge. Nora Lopez was elected president to serve from 2020-2022, knowing she would have to think out of the box to keep the chapter moving forward. We all learned to ZOOM, and even though we could not be physically together everyone's smiles warmed our hearts.
Due to the pandemic, the 2020 TSO convention was canceled, and the Area 5 workshop was held via Zoom. As we journeyed through 2021 masks, social distancing, and vaccinations were encouraged. Unfortunately, regardless of all the precautions, several members and family members became sick with Covid. We are so thankful that everyone recovered.
The 2021 TSO convention was in Denton, and there we go, masks, hand wipes, disinfectant spray, and a lot of prayers. We all followed protocol and were so excited to be there in person and see friends. Many hugs were had. In July we attended the DKG International Conference in San Antonio. We survived.
And so the "Journey: Which way will you go?" began.

this is us now
2022
Beta Pi's first chapter meeting was held on October 8, 2022, in person. We respected protocol but did share the space.
Now let's continue on the journey.
